Hi Ian here again from Hardgainers Workouts. Hi Ian here again, and let’s face it building muscle mass is difficult, so what makes Vince Delmonte’s – skinny to muscle – No Nonsense Muscle Building so special?

Well it’s a program developed by Vince DelMonte to help all those hardgainers pack on slabs of muscle mass in 24 weeks, Vince was someone who was really skinny with and apparently with hardgainer genetics, who has transformed his body into a lean, ripped and muscular one.

I am aware of many ‘mass building workout’ and ‘hardgainer workout’ techniques that can help build muscle such as specific types weight training and key hardgainers diet and nutritional factors which can pack on lean muscle mass and when required burn body fat, such as an immediate post workout carb/protein shake to rapidly replace lost amino acids boosting immune system function and rapidly synthesising protein to replenish tired muscles fast in order to grow during the recovery phase.

A Hardgainer is quite simple someone who doesn’t have the genetics to build muscle easily. Many times hargainers try to pack on lean muscle mass by weight or resistance training too frequently. The key to packing on lots of lean muscle is quite straight forward though– you have to balance the amount and type of muscle building workouts you are doing and also by following a hardgainer diet routine or specific muscle building nutrition plan.

You are not alone there are an enormous number of Hardgainers out there trying to go from skinny to muscle, and they probably make up most of the population. The problem is that they all really make the same mistakes when trying to build muscle fast.  They all go headlong into muscle building workouts 4-6 days per week and spending way too much time in the gym. They see these muscle-bound pros lifting massive weights and telling you that you should be training for 2-4 hours per day 6 days per week in order to build muscle. Well that’s rubbish for most of us and training longer and harder will probably work against you in your mass building quest. Intensive muscle building training can very quickly over-train you, leaving you tired, listless, irritable, weak, sore, and probably injured and definitely with less muscle than you want. You might see some quick gains but you will definitely hit a brick wall shortly after.

Also many Hardgainers go mad on eating protein, eating way too much in the quest to pack on slabs of rock-hard muscle. They never think of possible digestion issues or the role amino acids play in gaining muscle and the important aspect of muscle building – the recovery phase (more on this stuff in future posts).

So are YOU a Hardgainer?

The bottom line is, if you’ve been weight training regularly for a few months and are developing some experience at it, you will know that progressive training is required to see any gains in muscle mass. The problem with most of the mass building workout programmes out there is that they have you training day after day after day. They also try to increase the weight you are lifting on a weekly basis until you can physically (and mentally) go no further. You will plateau but continue to go through your muscle workout routine in the quest to build muscle but it is much more likely that you will over-train, then give up. The question at this point is “is that you?”

So what’s the answer?

Quite simply if you fall into any of the pitfalls above, or are just not seeing the muscle gains you expect from your current muscle building workout, the key is not to do more, but actually to do less. Yes ease back on your weekly muscle building workout days and also limit the time to no longer than 45 minutes. If you go beyond that time put the weights down and get outta there, it’s doing your mass building no good at all.
